BANGALORE: As part of Bangalore development and to beat traffic congestion, the government has decided to widen and improve some of the prime roads in the city.
During the meeting of stake holders of Bangalore City - BBMP, BDA, Bangalore traffic police, BWSSB, BMRDA, Bangalore Urban district, BMTC and BMRCL - on Monday, the government decided that widening of six important roads should be taken up on a priority basis.
Widening will be taken up between -- Ramanamaharshi road from Mekhri Circle to Windsor Manor junction, Outer rind road between Silk board junction to Jayadeva hospital flyover, K R Puram between Benniganahalli to Mahadevapura flyover, Nagawara junction towards Hebbal, Bannerghatta road between Bangalore dairy to Sagar Apollo hospital and widening Hebbal flyover. Traffic police has suggested the government to widen these roads at the earliest.
"Without going in for acquisition of new property, proposed road widening will be done in the existing government property. Preparation of estimates is underway," Bangalore in-charge minister Ramalinga Reddy said on Tuesday. These roads apart, the BBMP has also planned to widen Mission road between BBMP head office to Subbaiah circle.
